Contour Line Drawing
The Contour Line Drawing project is an introduction to drawing from observation. You will spend the first several days of the quarter drawing simple geometric objects in different arrangements. This is intended to help you realize that all objects, no matter how complex, can be broken down into combinations of simpler geometric forms. The five basic forms are:
Sphere
Cube
Cone
Pyramid
Cylinder
You will be asked to bring in an object of your own selection to draw. No shading or rendering will be involved in this project. Drawings should emphasize line only. Final drawings should reflect an implied line contour drawing that implies form, proximity and light.
